Ajay Devgn Reiterates Daughter Nysa Has No Plans to Join Films, Supports Shorter Work Hours for New Mothers in Bollywood.
Ajay Devgn has once again addressed speculation about his daughter Nysa Devgan’s potential Bollywood debut. Speaking at the trailer launch of Maa, where he appeared alongside his wife and lead actor Kajol, the 56-year-old actor confirmed that Nysa, 22, currently has no interest in pursuing a career in films.
Responding to questions about her future, Devgn firmly said, “She’s not interested in this kind of work at the moment.” Despite being frequently seen in Bollywood social circles and often photographed with other star kids, Nysa has not expressed any desire to enter the film industry. Both Ajay and Kajol have consistently maintained that she has no plans to become an actor, at least for now.
During the event, Devgn also addressed a shift in the industry where many female actors—especially new mothers—are advocating for eight-hour workdays during shoots. He shared that the request has largely been accepted by filmmakers and hasn’t caused any friction.
“People understand,” Devgn said. “Most genuine filmmakers have no issue with this. These days, the standard shift has become eight to nine hours, so it really depends on the individual. The industry is generally supportive.”
Maa, directed by Vishal Furia and starring Kajol, is scheduled to release on June 27.
