Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth beamed with pride and joy as they watched their son Yathra don his graduation gown and cap. The actor shared a photo from the ceremony on social media, captioning it, “Proud parents Yathra,” accompanied by two heart emojis.
For the special occasion, Dhanush opted for a clean crew cut with a classic white shirt and black trousers, while Aishwarya looked graceful in an off-white ensemble.
The former couple had announced their separation on January 17, 2022, after 18 years of marriage. They officially filed for divorce in April 2024, and the court granted it in November that year.
Reflecting on their journey, Dhanush had shared at the time of their separation: “18 years of togetherness—as friends, partners, parents, and well-wishers to one another. It has been a journey of growth, understanding, and adaptation. Today, we find ourselves at a point where our paths diverge.”
He further wrote, “Aishwarya and I have mutually decided to part ways as a couple to better understand ourselves as individuals. We request everyone to respect our decision and give us the space and privacy we need.”
Despite going their separate ways, Dhanush and Aishwarya remain devoted co-parents to their sons, Yathra and Linga, maintaining a united front when it comes to family responsibilities.
Professionally, Dhanush is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kuberaa and is also in the post-production phase of his directorial project Idly Kadai. Meanwhile, Aishwarya’s most recent directorial venture was the film Lal Salaam.
