Malayalam superstar Mohanlal expressed heartfelt wishes to his wife Suchitra on her birthday, which fell on Tuesday.
The actor took to Instagram to post a warm picture of the couple smiling together. Both are seen dressed in matching beige outfits — Mohanlal wears a loose textured top with a coordinating beret and trendy red-tinted sunglasses, while Suchitra beams in dark shades and a long beaded necklace.
“Happy Birthday Dear Suchi,” Mohanlal captioned the post.
Mohanlal and Suchitra tied the knot in 1988. She is the daughter of renowned Tamil film producer K. Balaji. The couple shares two children, Pranav and Vismaya. Their son, Pranav, has appeared in a few films, beginning with his debut in Onnaman (2001), which starred his father.
With a cinematic journey that spans over 40 years and includes more than 400 films, 64-year-old Mohanlal is among Indian cinema’s most celebrated actors. He received the Padma Shri in 2001 and the Padma Bhushan in recognition of his contributions to the film industry. In 2009, he made history as the first Indian actor to be granted an honorary lieutenant colonel rank in the Territorial Army.
Most recently, Mohanlal starred in the crime thriller Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy. The film features a talented ensemble including Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, Krishna Praba, and Aravind.
Up next, he will appear in Hridayapoorvam, a family drama helmed by Sathyan Anthikad, with a screenplay by Sonu T. P. based on a story by Anthikad’s son Akhil Sathyan. The cast includes Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Siddique, Sabitha Anand, Baburaj, Nishan, Lalu Alex, Janardhanan, and S. P. Charan. The film is set for theatrical release on August 28.
Mohanlal is also part of the upcoming epic action drama Vrusshabha, which features Roshan Meka, Shanaya Kapoor, Zahrah S. Khan, Srikanth Meka, and Ragini Dwivedi.
